What's the game about?

Find ducks and nests near you, discover little surprises hidden throughout your community, and help spread kindness one duck at a time. Whether you hide a duck, find a duck, or follow its journey, every small moment helps create smiles and connection.

Map

Discover what’s happening around you. The Map shows nearby virtual and live nests, plus ducks waiting to be found on your DuckTrail adventure.

Nests

Create and manage all your DuckTrail nests in one place. Add virtual nests, where players can check in digitally and collect virtual ducks, or create live nests, where people can visit a real-world spot to find, leave, and trade physical ducks.

Live Nests

Physical nests are real containers placed in safe visible areas.

They may look like small lunchboxes, treasure chests, or creative containers filled with rubber ducks.

When you find a physical nest you can:

• Take a duck
• Leave a duck
• Check in using the app
• Upload photos
• Earn badges and kindness rewards

Virtual Nests

Virtual nests are real map locations with a digital experience.
You must be physically near a virtual nest to interact with it in the app.

When you visit a virtual nest you can:

• Check in once per day
• Discover new destinations and landmarks
• Earn feathers (points)

Ducks

Manage all your DuckTrail ducks in one place, including both virtual ducks and live ducks. This is where you can place live ducks on the map, create trackable ducks with QR codes, and follow their journey as they travel from place to place.

Live Ducks

Live ducks are real rubber ducks you can find, track, and re-hide in the real world.

Some physical ducks may have a DuckTrail QR code attached. When scanned, the QR code can take players to that duck’s profile, where they can see its journey, add their discovery, and help track where it travels next.

Virtual Ducks

Virtual ducks are digital collectibles you can earn when checking into virtual nests.

Each time you check in, you have a random chance to receive a virtual duck.

Virtual ducks may represent:

• Famous landmarks
• Countries and cities
• Events and holidays
• Community challenges

Manage your DuckTrail profile and see your personal stats all in one place. From here, you can view your teams, ducks, passport, badges, pictures, and other parts of your DuckTrail journey.

Duckers

Connect with the DuckTrail community. See other players, tap a name to view their profile, check the leaderboard, explore teams, and keep up with events.

Safety First

All nests are reviewed before they appear on the map.

Ducks may appear on the map right away, but they can be removed at any time if they do not follow DuckTrail’s safety rules or include inappropriate content.

For everyone’s safety, nests and ducks are not allowed near schools, daycares, or unsafe locations.
